BIOGRAPHY

Born Glasgow, studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art from 1970-74 under Danny Ferguson RSW. RGI., James Robertson RSW.RGI.RSA.PAI. and Dr. David Donaldson RSA.RP.RGI.LLD.D.LITT(Queens Limner). Founder member and Chairman of Group 81 artists between 1981-1991 President and Chairman of the Paisley Art Institute 1989-2000.

Prizes and Awards: Painting prize, Glasgow School of Art 1972 First prize, National competition , Stirling Smith Art Gallery 1978 Cargill Award, Royal Glasgow Institute 1982 Torrance Award, Royal Glasgow Institute 1984 Mayor Oppenheim Award, Royal Scottish Academy 1986 Hunting Group Art Prizes- 2nd Prize, London ; Paris & Edinburgh 1988

Commissioned to paint two portraits, one of the Chancellor and the other the Principal of Paisley University. Recently Exhibited at, The Glasgow Groups 50th Anniversary at the Glasgow Concert Hall 101 Anniversary of the Maclaurin Art Gallery Ayr Scotland. The Paisley Art Institute Diplomates Exhibition –Glasgow Art Club

Currently on exhibition in Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh); England; France; USA and New Zealand.
